The First Amendment

As a student journalism the First Amendment is important to me because I have the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of press, and freedom of petition, and I know I am protected by it. As a student, having the freedom of speech is important especially since I feel like I have a lot to say on certain topics. Being able to speak my mind and not getting shut down, especially having the Iowa code, it feels like more support and protection on my writing. As a journalism, its always important to be truthful, seek the truth and report it.
